Advent and Christmas

Advent and Christmas

On the four Sundays before Christmas, and throughout the weeks in between, First Presbyterian Church celebrates the coming birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Advent services, which are a beloved tradition in this church, include sacred music of the season and lighting of advent candles.

On Sunday, December 20th at 4:00 PM we will present our Chancel Choir, our Children’s Choir, our Bell Choir and special guest soloists in concert. They will be accompanied by Quintessential Brass and a full orchestra, featuring El Paso’s finest musicians. The concert will include selections from Handel’s Messiah, Christmas Day by Gustav Holst and Christmas favorites such as Angels We Have Heard on High, O Holy Night, The First Nowell, Joy to the World and Silent Night. A scrumptious Christmas Feast will follow the concert. The Feast will offer taste temptations at various stations including; Christmas punch and salads, choices of roast loin of pork, tamales, posole and chicken divan followed by a myriad of Christmas cookies and pecan pie. A special guest will have a treat for the children.
Mark your calendars now; no tickets required for the concert but please RSVP if you plan to attend the feast. Donations accepted. RSVP for the dinner to patty@firstpres-ep.org or call 533-7551. For more information contact the church at 533-7551.
